South Kingstown Retains Federal Engineering for Multi-Site Radio System Consulting

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, May 13, 2019 — South Kingstown, Rhode Island has retained the services of Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to assist in the upgrade of a new multi-site UHF simulcast radio system for South Kingstown Police, EMS, Public Works, Parks & Leisure Services, School Department along with Union and Kingston Fire Districts.

In announcing the contract, Mr. Travis LePage, FE Director, said: “Federal Engineering is proud to be a partner in this exciting project to upgrade radio communications for South Kingstown’s first responders. We will apply our vast knowledge of the market, technology, and operating environments, gained through over 1,000 successful projects, to deliver a system that meets the Town’s needs at a minimum of cost and risk.”

Mr. Lance Whaley, South Kingstown Fire Alarm Superintendent, said: “South Kingstown went through a competitive procurement process to select the best qualified consultant firm in radio system consulting to assess our needs, develop design plans, prepare bid specifications, and provide construction oversight. Federal Engineering was selected after a thorough vetting process including checking multiple references and in person interviews. We are excited to have them onboard.”
