Loudoun County Selects Federal Engineering for Emergency Communications Center Consolidation Study

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, November 13, 2017 — Loudoun County, Virginia has selected Federal Engineering, Inc.

(FE) to complete a consolidation study for the County’s Emergency Communications Center.

In announcing the contract, Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President and CEO, said: “Federal Engineering will evaluate, benchmark, and provide best practices information pertaining to the emergency communications and public safety dispatch operations, associated policies, and implementation methods in Northern Virginia and other comparable jurisdictions. This project will include the following:

  • Conduct a comprehensive review and evaluation of Loudoun County’s current emergency communications and public safety dispatch operations.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review and evaluation of the Town of Leesburg’s police dispatch operations and make recommendations on the feasibility of consolidating the Town’s operations into the County’s public safety dispatch system including within current facilities and infrastructure.
  • Provide recommendations, including staffing recommendations, for implementing any changes to the organizational model arising from the study and especially focused on providing increased operational efficiency and effectiveness and overall public safety.

At the conclusion of our efforts, Loudoun County will be in the position to make an informed decision as to the best course of action.”

The County released a request for proposal to acquire the services of a highly qualified dispatch center consulting firm. Federal Engineering demonstrated the firm has the resources and capability to provide the materials and services required. FE’s proposal presented a successful history of performing emergency communications consulting/analysis work for organizations with a similar size and scope of the County for over five years. The proposal provided a list of numerous comparable contracts including descriptions of the work performed and total values of the contracts. The FE team is looking forward to working with the County on this important project.
