FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, May 15, 2017 — Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) Chief Consultant Neil Horden and PSAP Technical Lead, Sherri A. Bush, ENP, are scheduled to present at the Education & Training Sessions of the 2017 NENA Conference and Expo, to be held at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas on June 3 – 8, 2017.

Mr. Horden is presenting Project Lifecycle Management; Operation to Replacement; on Monday, June 5 at 3:45 PM. This session discusses Lifecycle management, an often- overlooked aspect of technology and system administration. Topics include; how lifecycle management differs from system maintenance, ways to implement a lifecycle management process, and how to present the need for lifecycle management to decision makers.
Ms. Bush is presenting Legislative Changes to Support NG9-1-1, on Wednesday, June 7 at 8:15 AM. This session highlights case studies from multiple states that have enacted, or are enacting, legislative changes to support statewide ESInets and/or NG9-1-1 systems.
Ms. Bush is also presenting Site Evaluation: A Critical Step in New-PSAP Planning, on Wednesday, June 7 at 9:30 AM. This session teaches you the factors to consider and what you should look for (and look out for) during the site evaluation process. You’ll learn to identify site threats and vulnerabilities, determine infrastructure and utility needs, and assess the impact of myriad other factors impacting site viability.
Mr. Neil Horden serves as Chief Consultant of Federal Engineering’s consulting practice. Neil is a 34-year veteran of the wireless communications industry and began his career with Federal Engineering in 2004. Mr. Horden is a member of APCO and serves on their Commercial Advisory Council. He is also a member of NENA, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and the Radio Club of America (RCA). Mr. Horden serves on MissionCritical Communications magazine’s editorial advisory board. He presents regularly at APCO and NENA national and regional conferences, as well as the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE).
Ms. Sherri Bush is FE’s PSAP Technical Lead. Ms. Bush possesses extensive experience in specifications development, procurement support, and project management for the successful implementation of automated systems. She also provides technical assistance for PSAP management and facilities design as well as, operations, staffing and organizational assessments with substantial experience in the consolidation of communications centers. Her project management experience also includes voice/data interoperability planning, ESInet, and NG9-1-1 requirements definition, procurement, and implementation. Sherri is a member of NENA, previously was a 2-term chapter president, and is an Emergency Number Professional (ENP). She is also a member of the E9- 1-1 Institute, the Virginia Chapter of National Association of Telecommunications Officers Advisors (VATOA), and APCO.
