Federal Engineering Selected By Los Angeles Department Of Water And Power For Radio And Advance Wireless Technologies Consulting Services
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 22, 2011 — The City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to provide technical services for the development of the Utility’s future radio and advance wireless technologies infrastructures. Multiple systems will be addressed by FE in two regions, the Los Angeles Basin and the Owens Valley.
“The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power currently relies upon land mobile radio for a multitude of functions. Usage of mobile radio and advanced wireless technologies will continue to expand in the foreseeable future,” indicated Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President.
Mr. Bosco continued:”Federal Engineering will interview LADWP radio users to develop and understanding of their functional and operational needs. FE will also survey existing radio sites and assess the capabilities of the existing wireless infrastructure. FE will then synthesize candidate solutions including performance, cost, capabilities, interoperability, and scalability in our analysis. We will also include best practices emergency procedures for the recommended systems. FE consultants will then work with LADWP personnel to select the optimum solution for the Utility.”
