Federal Engineering Awarded Contract By Booz Allen To Support The Department Of Homeland Security

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 8, 2010 — Federal Engineering (FE) has teamed with Booz Allen Hamilton to provide planning, engineering analysis, and subject matter expertise services in support of the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Emergency Communications.

Federal Engineering is providing engineering expertise to the Office of Emergency Communications (OEC). In this role, FE consultants assist the OEC in defining the federal requirements for standards-based technologies, security regulations, spectrum, and interoperability projects. Additionally, FE has been providing planning and coordination efforts to enhance public safety communications along the US-Canada and US-Mexico borders.

“Federal Engineering is an important partner in supporting the Department of Homeland Security Office of Emergency Communications’ mission,” said Booz Allen Senior Associate Erin Comer. “Federal Engineering brings an understanding of the technology and policy issues that federal, state and local public safety agencies face across the United States, and Federal Engineering’s support of Project 25 standards development efforts has assisted the OEC in moving secure public safety communications forward.”

Mr. Bosco continued, “As a result of FE’s extensive experience with federal, state and local entities on emergency communications issues, the company is well positioned to assist OEC in developing appropriate standards in support of public safety agencies.” FE helps develop the technical and operational policies, procedures and position papers necessary to deliver the best communications technologies to public safety. Additionally, FE was an active participant in the U.S.-Canada Cross Border Interoperable Communications Workshop and currently supports the Southwest Border Communications Working Group initiatives. ”

Federal Engineering provides a wide range of design and management services in public safety involving VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 4.9GHz communications systems. The firm also assists in the design and implementation of PSAPs, ECCs, and EOCs.
