Florence, Arizona Awards Federal Engineering Radio Consulting Contract For Procurement And Implementation Support
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 2, 2010 — The Historic Town of Florence, Arizona has awarded Federal Engineering (FE) a contract to assist in the procurement and implementation of the Town’s next generation public safety communications system.
Mr. Jess Knudson, Assistant to the Town Manager said: “Last year Federal Engineering completed a Public Safety Mobile Radio Plan for Florence. The plan was very well received and the Town Council has made the implementation of a new radio system a top priority. Federal Engineering has been retained to provide technical assistance to ensure that the Town’s radio communications needs are met.”
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President, described the program: “Federal Engineering’s support services will take this project from the initial planning phases through implementation and testing. FE’s services will include:
- Finalizing the system requirements and design
- Generating a request for proposal and evaluating equipment vendor responses
- Coordinating implementation tasks for all organizations involved with the project
- Preparing program plans and tracking progress
- Managing program documentation and drawings
- Quality assurance including site inspections and independent validation and verification.
To accomplish this, Federal Engineering will employ methodologies it has honed over billions of dollars in public safety mobile radio programs.”
