Winnebago Awards Federal Engineering Contract for Computer Aided Dispatch Consulting Services

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 10, 2017 — The Winnebago County, IL ETSB, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Rockford have recently awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to assist in the acquisition of a new Public Safety system.

Mr. Derek Bergsten, Rockford Fire Chief and ETSB Chair, indicated: “As a result of a Request for Qualifications, Winnebago County ETSB, the County and the City selected Federal Engineering to provide technical support for this important project. We have worked with L. R. Kimball in the past and were very happy with the firm. With FE’s addition of the L.R. Kimball public safety communications consulting practice, they became the natural choice for the County.”

Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President and CEO, provided a vignette of the Winnebago project: “The Public Safety (CAD/LERMS/MDC) System upgrade project will occur in four phases:

  • Phase 1 – Needs assessment and stakeholder engagement
  • Phase 2 – Development of functional specifications
  • Phase 3 – Procurement support including RFP development and vendor selection
  • Phase 4 – Project management and implementation support”

Mr. J. Michael Kennedy, FE’s Vice President of Sales, stated: “We look forward to working with the agencies in Winnebago County to support them in procuring their next Public Safety system. We have enjoyed a good relationship assisting Winnebago in the NINGA NG9-1-1 environment and look forward to working on more public safety projects in the future.”
