State of New Mexico Enters Into an Agreement with Federal Engineering to Provide NG9-1-1 Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Services

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, May 27, 2024 – Just announced, the State of New Mexico’s Department of Finance & Administration has finalized a contract with Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to support the State’s implementation and transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1).

Mr. Joseph Baros, Chief Information Officer for the State, provided an overview: “We are very pleased to onboard Federal Engineering to provide the state with comprehensive and thorough Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services as we roll out a NG9-1-1 system. This project will include, but is not limited to, the evaluation and assessment of the implementation of a standards-compliant Emergency Services IP Network (ESInet) and Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) transition from the current legacy E911 environment to a statewide, interoperable Next Generation 9-1-1 solution based on the vendor contract deliverables. The completion of services provided by FE is set for June 2026.”

Mr. John E. We understand the system deployment, environmental, and regulatory requirements unique to New Mexico, having provided numerous consulting services, including projects that developed the original state 9-1-1 plan, a cybersecurity review, and multiple iterations of a 9-1-1 billing audit program, most recently completed in 2018.”
