Multi-Agency Communications Center Chooses Federal Engineering for Dispatch Center Consulting Services
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 26, 2021 – The Multi-Agency Communications Center (MACC911), serving Grant County, Washington, has chosen Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to provide computer aided dispatch (CAD), mobile data system (MDS), law records management system (RMS), and jail booking system (JMS) consulting services.
Mr. Gerrit Klein, Project Manager for MACC911, said: “MACC911 was formed in 1995 and serves the Cities and Towns of Grant County, including the Fire and EMS Districts. MACC911 seeks subject matter expertise to complete an assessment of its public safety software technology, including an evaluation of the existing environment and current and future needs. Federal Engineering appeared to be our best choice because of the firm’s rich history, spanning over 38 years of providing system analysis and design for public safety organizations. Mr. Don Nagle, Federal Engineering Director provided a vignette of the project: “FE will complete a gap analysis and action matrix to help MACC911 with a solution replacement that meets the current and future needs of their stakeholders. Our recommendations will provide flexibility, redundancy, and mobility while capitalizing on the latest best practices in public safety information technology and support. FE’s experts will guide MACC911 and local agencies in identifying user requirements and then develop a Current Conditions/Gap Analysis Report for MACC911 to assess your existing technology versus the needs of users. FE will conduct this project in an interactive manner with MACC911. We will coordinate activities with the County’s designated project manager and involve other stakeholders.”
Mr. Nagle continued: “In today’s public safety environment, there is no more important activity than developing effective procedures for handling dispatching, mobile communications, report writing, records administration, evidence tracking, investigations, inmate management, and interfaces. The FE project team will leverage its extensive knowledge of multi-service PSAPs and CAD, MDS, RMS, and JMS operations to conduct focused requirements gathering sessions on procedures and process methodology used by MACC911 to support Grant County first responders and citizens. Report processing, records entry, State of Washington and national database updates, and coordination with local district attorney offices, court processes, and jail booking processes, as well as the jail system, will be carefully factored into the recommended solution.”
