Mono County Awards Federal Engineering a Contract to Assess Regional Dispatch Center

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, August 3, 2020 — Mono County, Inyo County, the City of Bishop, and Town of Mammoth Lakes (the Agencies) in California have awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to provide expert consulting services for a regional dispatch center feasibility study and implementation plan.

Mr. Nate Greenberg, Mono County Director of Information Technology stated: “FE has completed multiple projects in California including a public safety mobile radio project for our County. They understand the distinctive conditions of our operational landscape, political influence, and geographical terrain. We are counting on FE to draw upon their California experiences as well as projects across the nation to help the Agencies develop a regional dispatch solution to meet our objectives and guide stakeholders forward.”

Mr. Rajit Jhaver, FE Director, said: “Federal Engineering is uniquely positioned to assist the Agencies in achieving improved levels of service, collaborative technological and communications solutions, and ultimately, cost efficiencies. Mr. Jhaver continued: “Collectively, the Agencies are served by three separate PSAPs operated by Mono County Sheriff, Inyo County Sheriff, and the City of Bishop Police Department. FE will conduct a study to help them better understand the opportunities and constraints associated with implementing a regional dispatch solution, as well as key steps that need to be taken to move forward. We will assess how service delivery can be improved to first responders in the field and the public as well as how to maximize cost efficiencies and resource sharing in these rural, sparsely populated regions.”
