Malheur County Selects Federal Engineering to Prepare a Communications Strategic Plan

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, May 6, 2024 – The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office in Vale, Oregon has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to develop a Communications Strategic Plan for the County’s Sheriff Office.

Lt. Richard Harriman, Emergency Manager, Malheur County Sheriff’s Office, explained: “The County’s primary objective is to improve public safety communications and bring the County dispatch center in line with industry best practices. The Strategic Plan developed by Federal Engineering will give us a roadmap to achieving that goal.”

In July 2021, FE completed a radio assessment and a PSAP assessment for the Sheriff’s Office that provides much of the information required to complete this project. FE will update the information and conclusions from the previous reports based upon today’s conditions and deliver a new Communications Strategic Plan.”

Mr. Jeffrey Paré, Director of Business Development for Federal Engineering said:” FE understands Malheur County’s unique environment through our previous consulting work with the County as well as our projects with clients across the State of Oregon, including the City of Portland, Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon, Lincoln County, Tillamook County, and the State of Oregon. The Strategic Plan we develop will be used as a guideline to improve the County radio system and dispatch center and to bring them up to industry standards and national best practices as well as to prepare for future growth and emerging technologies. The Plan can also be used to apply for grants.”
