Federal Engineering to Provide Public Safety Services to the City of Dallas
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, August 10, 2026
Federal Engineering Inc. (FE) is pleased to announce it has been chosen by the City of Dallas, Texas to provide consulting services that will help the City replace its Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Records Management System (RMS), and Mobile data system.
Federal Engineering brings specialized public safety technology implementation experience, including more than 40 years as an independent consulting firm and more than 3,500 consulting projects nationwide. FE will provide independent project management and technical oversight to support implementation of the new system. The firm’s role will include milestone tracking, vendor compliance monitoring, oversight of system configuration, review of data migration activities, coordination and oversight of testing and user acceptance, oversight of training activities, cutover coordination, and monitoring of post go-live issue resolution and stabilization.
“The City interviewed three firms and determined that Federal Engineering provided the best combination of experience, staffing, and cost. This agreement provides the City with independent project oversight for two of our most important public safety technology transitions,” said Chief Comeaux, Chief of the Dallas Police Department. “Modernizing these core systems will strengthen the technology that supports our dispatchers, officers, firefighters, marshals, and public safety personnel every day, while helping ensure the project is implemented in a coordinated and accountable way.”
“We are delighted to be selected by the City of Dallas and will provide them with outstanding and reliable services to complete this project,” explained Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, President & CEO of Federal Engineering. “In contracting with FE, the City will partner with a consulting firm with an extensive team of highly qualified, experienced consultants and subject matter experts; a team with a combined total of 1,200 years of hands-on experience. We appreciate that the challenges faced by public safety agencies are complex; they require the senior-level expertise of consultants with hands-on experience in similar environments and with relevant solutions. FE consultants are actively involved in industry working groups, professional conferences, and national standards organizations, and apply their knowledge to implement best practices in every project.”
Mr. Bosco added: “FE has carefully selected a project team of our subject matter experts to deliver CAD/Mobile/RMS solution implementation consulting services, including a thorough understanding of the City’s current CentralSquare Technologies CAD and Hexagon RMS functionality, database, and architecture. FE has provided consulting services to clients across the State of Texas for over a decade. With numerous clients in the state, we will bring our in-depth understanding of state, regional, and municipal regulations, policies, and operating environments to the City. Additionally, the team’s strength comes from hands-on experience working in public safety environments; we know the issues, challenges, and risks agencies face in replacing public safety software and understand the challenges from a user’s perspective.”
