Federal Engineering to Provide Private LTE Technical Consulting for Benton Public Utility District
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 27, 2026
Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) is pleased to announce its contract with Benton Public Utility District (PUD), Kennewick, Washington, to provide consulting and technical support for the Utility’s Private LTE (PLTE) network program.
Ms. Jennifer Holbrook, Director of IT and Broadband Services for Benton PUD, stated: “FE will build upon the District’s previous “current state” assessment, requirements definition, and conceptual RF design. FE will review prior project materials as well as available network and site data to confirm the technical basis of design for the next phase of work. FE will also participate in technical coordination sessions with Benton PUD to confirm use cases, mobility assumptions, resiliency objectives, service priorities, design constraints, existing fiber and backhaul interfaces, and whether the target architecture will remain LTE-only or include a 5G migration path. FE tasks will include RF and spectrum engineering, PLTE network architecture, system design, performance-based technical specifications, procurement support, and implementation project management.”
Mr. Rajit Jhaver, Associate Vice President of the LMR/Wireless Practice at Federal Engineering, emphasized: “With over four decades of experience, FE has been selected by more than 500 clients throughout the United States and Canada, many for multiple engagements. We have completed more than 3,500 consulting projects, serving both small and large utilities. This breadth of experience allows us to bring practical insight and proven methodologies to our clients.
