Wyoming Taps Federal Engineering to Provide Technical Support for Transition to NG911 Systems

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 13, 2026

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to provide consulting services in the evaluation of the state’s existing 911 systems to assess the transition and migration to a Next Generation 911 (NG911) system. The primary focus is on maximizing the system’s operational efficiency and establishing a cost-effective, universally accessible statewide Emergency Services IP Network (ESI-Net) and Core Services.

Mr. Jeffrey Paré, Director of Business Development for Federal Engineering, proclaimed: “FE has provided consulting services to the State of Wyoming for over 40 years. We have extensive experience and understanding regarding the unique circumstances in Wyoming. FE will work with WYDOT, PSAPs, and other state agencies to gather and analyze data and develop recommendations for informed decision-making and strategic planning. Our collaborative approach builds consensus, promotes transparency, and ensures solutions are embraced by participants. Many of our earliest clients continue to partner with us decades later because we prioritize long-term relationships and measurable results,” stated Mr. Paré.

Ms. Aimee Binning, Emergency Communications 911 Planning Coordinator, Wyoming Department of Transportation, explained: “The State of Wyoming desires to develop a strategic plan, program roadmap, funding strategies, and deployment alternatives for migration to statewide NG911 capabilities. In order to reduce the risks associated with the major transformation of our PSAPs, the State has identified the importance of partnering with an experienced consulting firm to identify the feasibility and help guide the process. FE was selected via a competitive procurement process based on their superior proposal. FE demonstrated an understanding of NGCS hardware and software systems, their capabilities, and integration requirements for processing multimedia and routing geo-spatial calls within a NENA i3-compliant ESI-Net infrastructure.”
