Federal Engineering Awarded Public Safety Exercise Contract From Monroe County, New York
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, March 26, 2010 — Monroe County, New York has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a consulting contract for Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TICP) exercise development and evaluation services. Under this contract, FE will provide multi-discipline, multi-agency, regional exercise development, coordination, execution, and evaluations services to the Monroe Department of Public Safety.
Mr. Frederick J. Rion, Jr., Associate Emergency Manager for the Monroe County Office of Emergency Management described the program: “Federal Engineering will develop a table top exercise and a functional exercise for a combination of the 5 UASI MSA counties identified within the TCIP. Development will be coordinated with the Exercise Advisory Group consisting of representatives from the Monroe County Department of Public Safety including the Public Safety Director, Emergency Manager, Program Administrator for Public Safety Communications Division, and others. FE will coordinate and execute the exercises including the coordination of the multiple agencies and multijurisdictional participants and the FEMA Region Exercise Officer to ensure that all aspects of the exercises follow the National Incident Management System guidelines and principles. At the conclusion, FE will make recommendations for improvements in such area as capabilities, leadership, governance, operational protocols, standard operating procedures, interoperable communications systems, emergency responder skills, and other areas identified by the Exercise Advisory Group.”
