Casa Grande, Arizona Awards Federal Engineering Radio and Dispatch Consulting Agreement
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 25, 2016 — The City of Casa Grande, Arizona has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) an agreement to provide on-going dispatch and land mobile radio consulting services in support of their system upgrade process.
Mr. Michael Brashier, Manager of the Public Safety Communications Center, said: “Our current systems have performed well over their lifetime and are now approaching the end-of-life phase. The City determined we needed expertise to assist in upgrading our radio and dispatching infrastructure. Federal Engineering was selected because they provide the best mix of operational and technical knowledge. FE personnel have served as first responders and understand, from a user perspective, how these systems must function. FE also has a unique appreciation of our environment derived from their ongoing consulting services to other jurisdictions in Arizona.”
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President and CEO, provided a vignette of the Casa Grande project: “FE’s contract provides a framework to respond to ad-hoc, short-term assignments regarding Casa Grande’s Public Safety Communications and Dispatch Systems. We are currently surveying the radio communications sites to determine their condition and suitability for use in the future system. FE is also conducting user requirements sessions with both radio users and dispatch center personnel to gather information as to their current and future needs. Our findings will be reviewed with Casa Grande before moving to the next phase of the project.”
Mr. Bosco continued, “Based upon the information gathered, FE will research equipment available from radio system and dispatch console vendors and assess their suitability to replace the existing, aging equipment. We will then develop budgetary costs and a plan for the upgrade. FE will be available to assist in the procurement process as well as provide implementation support should the City desire.”
Federal Engineering is a leading, nationwide firm providing analysis, design, procurement, and implementation support for NG9-1-1, PSAPs, ECCs, and EOCs. These services complement FE’s wide range of consulting services in public safety and public service communications involving LTE as well as traditional VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz and 4.9GHz mobile radio systems.
