Harrisonburg Awards Federal Engineering Contract for Computer Aided Dispatch and Data Management System Consulting
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, August 29, 2016 — The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communications Center (HRECC) in Harrisonburg, Virginia has awarded Federal Engineering Inc. (FE) a multi-year contract to assist in the upgrade of its public safety dispatching facilities.
Mr. Jim Junkins, Director of the HRECC, provided an overview: “HRECC solicited sealed proposals from interested professional consulting firms to provide comprehensive, turn-key consultation to assist us in selecting a Computer Aided Dispatch and Multi-Discipline Data Management systems (CAD/RMS) vendor. In addition, we sought a consulting firm that can manage the project and ensure the selected CAD/Data Management vendor fulfills project goals and objectives.”
Mr. Junkins went on to describe the selection process: “Proposal evaluations were based on a below, meets, exceeds scale, using the following minimum selection criteria:
- Experience and past performance providing similar services. Client references.
- The company’s ability to deliver the required services.
- Background on the company including the number of years in business and past major projects completed.
- The company’s ability to deliver the required services on time and in accordance with the scope of work. Costs which were not to be the sole deciding factor in the selection process, but a serious consideration.
Federal Engineering’s proposal scored best in the above factors. After interviewing the top rated firms, FE became our clear choice.”
