Gwinnett County Selects Federal Engineering for Public Safety Information Technology Consulting Services
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, October 16, 2017 — Gwinnett County, Georgia has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract for technical consulting services in the upgrade of the County’s Public Safety Information Systems.
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President and CEO, provided an overview: “Gwinnett County Information Technology Services provides a full range of technical services to County police, fire, emergency dispatch, sheriff, water, sanitation services, planning and development, and judicial as well as city municipalities within its borders. The County decided to upgrade its systems and issued a consulting RFP. A rigorous evaluation process was undertaken to determine the bidders’:
- Understanding of the project and objectives.
- Qualifications of staff performing the required work.
- Depth, breadth, and quality of the firm’s expertise, knowledge, and ability to meet the scope of work.
- Ability to meet the required timeframes specified in the RFP.
- Verifiable qualifications and experience specific to an engagement of our size and complexity.
After careful consideration, the County selected Federal Engineering.”
Mr. Bosco continued: “This comprehensive project is composed of five phases. In Phase 1, FE will perform an E9-1-1 business and technology analysis including user needs assessments, review of current processes, and a systems assessment. In Phase 2, we will gather business, technical, and financial requirements. Phase 3 will encompass the development of the systems RFP. During Phase 4 FE will assist with the RFP evaluation process including technical support, reference checking, presentation and demonstration attendance, and contract negotiations assistance. Phase 5 will encompass implementation support including project management, review of regulatory compliance, data migration planning, review of training plans, system testing oversight, and contract compliance monitoring.”
