Federal Engineering Awarded Contract from The Town of Granby for Dispatch and Radio System Consulting
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, April 22, 2024 – The Town of Granby, Connecticut has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to assist in the replacement of its public safety mobile radio system as well as lending their expertise for technical guidance.
Mr. John Horr, Jr., Town of Granby Radio Committee Chairman, explained: “Granby is planning to replace its existing radio system with a new, state-of-the-art infrastructure that will provide consistent, clear communications among the departments within the Town as well as between the departments and surrounding jurisdictions. The Town recently completed a needs assessment and solicited proposals from radio system vendors. We have selected an independent consulting firm, Federal Engineering, to critically review the request for quotation (RFQ) response and provide us with technical guidance during the procurement process. Because FE is not affiliated with any software or system provider, they will serve as our trusted advisor recommending the best course of action for the Town.”
Mr. Travis LePage, Director at Federal Engineering, provided more details: “As requested, FE will support the Town in conducting an independent, unbiased, fair, and thorough review of the vendor community’s response to the RFQ. FE’s methodology focuses on how well the Town’s stated needs are met within the RFQ response. We will assist the Town with vendor contract negotiations and then, if requested, provide implementation support to oversee the completion of project tasks, milestones, and deliverables. FE’s client-based project management approach results in proven and effective methods to lower costs and successfully complete projects to meet the needs of our clients. Our team’s adherence to the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodologies facilitates timely tracking and reporting of project status.”
