City of Kelowna Selects Federal Engineering for Dispatch Systems Migration Support

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, December 1, 2025 – The City of Kelowna Fire Department (KFD), in British Columbia, Canada has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to serve as their consultant for migration to a new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) solution.

“Kelowna is rapidly evolving and becoming a more urban and dynamic region. The city is the sixth largest in British Columbia and has one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country. To continue to meet the public safety needs of our growing City, we have employed FE to assist with the replacement of our end-of-life CAD and RMS. The new solution will be compatible with the City’s current NG9-1-1 project, which is also being conducted by Federal Engineering,” explained Mr. Jason Bedell, Assistant Fire Chief with the Kelowna Fire Department.

The project will consist of 3 phases to be completed over a year:

  • Phase 1: Needs Assessment and RMS RFP Development
  • Phase 2: Procurement Support
  • Phase 3: Implementation Oversight”
