Dane County Chooses Federal Engineering For Radio System Implementation Support

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, October 7, 2011 — The County of Dane, Wisconsin has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to provide technical and management support during the implementation of the County’s new public safety communications system.

Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President, provided an overview of the contract: “Dane County is implementing a new digital P25 VHF radio system to support the County’s public safety and public service organizations. Harris Corporation was recently selected as the radio system vendor via a competitive procurement. Federal Engineering will provide program management and independent validation and verification services in support of the following implementation activities:

  • Critical design reviews
  • Equipment management
  • Factory acceptance testing
  • Installation oversight
  • Site inspections
  • Radio coverage testing
  • System acceptance testing

FE’s efforts will culminate with the successful cutover of the new radio system.”
