Ada County, Idaho Awards Federal Engineering Consulting Contract for 800 MHz NPSPAC Repack Plan
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, September 28, 2015 — Ada County, ID awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to develop an 800 MHz National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC) repack plan and generate a NPSPAC Region 12 plan update.
The project manager for the Ada County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Bureau indicated: “The State of Idaho is in need of consulting services to develop an NPSPAC repack plan, and the current NPSPAC Region 12 plan requires updating. Under an agreement with the State, Ada County will be leading this effort, with assistance from Federal Engineering”.
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, FE’s President, provided an overview of the project: “FE will conduct research to provide the basis for the 800 MHz repack plan and the Region 12 plan update. As part of this research, we will:
- Extract frequency allocations within the Idaho 800 MHz Plan
- Extract allocations from bordering states
- Extract current licenses from the FCC Universal Licensing Service
Based upon the research, FE will develop the 800 MHz repack plan. The plan will:
- Create co-channel/adjacent channel relationships
- Assign new 12.5 kHz spacing allocations
- Provide supporting data and memoranda for plan update submissions
FE will review a preliminary repack plan with the County, incorporate modifications, and issue the final plan. We will then use this information to update the Region 12 Plan.”
