Washoe County Awards Federal Engineering Contract for 911 Emergency Response Master Plan
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, June 28, 2021 – Washoe County, Nevada has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to develop a 911 Emergency Response Five-Year Master Plan.
Mr. Quinn Korbulic, IT Manager for the County stated: “Federal Engineering will assist us in developing a 911 Emergency Response Five‐Year Master Plan in compliance with Nevada Revised Statutes NRS 244A.7643. This plan will serve as a guidebook for the County’s 911 Emergency Response Advisory Committee members and the public regarding the utilization of public funds (the 911 surcharge) to enhance 911 emergency response services. During their review and update of the Five-Year Master Plan, FE will provide PSAP operational analysis and technology assessments, legislative analysis, and related background. In addition, FE will document past actions and accomplishments of the 911 Emergency Response Advisory Committee and the Nevada Legislature.”
Mr. Jeffrey Paré, Federal Engineering Senior Account Executive, provided an overview: “Federal Engineering will complete the following tasks to prepare this comprehensive plan for the County:
- Review of Existing 911 Plan
- Assess PSAPs and Identify Backup PSAPs
- Assess Existing CAD/RMS Technology and Cost Impacts of Upgrades
- Provide Review of Legislation and Use of 911 Surcharge Funds
- Provide Funding Analysis and Recommendations
- Generate an Updated Washoe County 911 Plan”
