Washoe County Awards Federal Engineering a Multiyear Implementation Support Contract

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, October 22, 2018 — Washoe County, Nevada has awarded Federal Engineering (FE) a multiyear contract to provide project management and technical support for the implementation the new Nevada Shared Radio System (NSRS).

In announcing the contract, Mr. Quinn Korbulic, Washoe County Project Manager, said: “Federal Engineering has done an outstanding job getting our project to this point. They completed a needs assessment, developed system alternatives, participated in the procurement process, and assisted us with contract negotiations with the selected radio system vendor. We believe their participation in the implementation phase of this project will prove invaluable in obtaining a system that meets our needs.”

Mr. Chuck Hnot, FE Vice President, provided an overview of this project: “FE will apply our experience with billions of dollars in radio systems implementations. Over the next few years, we will perform the following tasks:

  • Provide project management
  • Participate in preliminary and final design reviews
  • Observe factory testing, equipment delivery and equipment staging
  • Inspect equipment installation
  • Observe coverage and system testing
  • Manage system acceptance and cutover
  • Review delivered documentation and vendor training program
  • Assist with old equipment decommissioning
  • Conduct project closeout
