Federal Engineering to Participate in Inaugural WIA Connectivity Expo and the North Carolina Public Safety Broadband Conference & Expo

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, April 30, 2018 — Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) has been invited to participate in the inaugural Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA) Connectivity Expo “Connect (X)” and the North Carolina Public Safety Broadband Conference & Expo, to be held on May 21-24, 2018, at the Charlotte, North Carolina Convention Center.

The WIA, in collaboration with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology, will present the North Carolina Public Safety Broadband Conference & Expo. This conference provides public safety and emergency response agencies at the local, regional and state level with critical information on FirstNet and the public safety broadband network.

FE’s President and CEO, Ronald F. Bosco, said; “As the leader in public safety communications consulting, Federal Engineering is honored to be invited to participate in this inaugural event. With FirstNet, LTE and other broadband technologies becoming an important component of mission critical communications, it is imperative that those involved with the procurement and use of these systems become well educated on the implications of these technologies on their organization and operation. Mr. Neil Horden, FE’s Chief Consultant and a recognized industry expert in public safety communications, will be leading a seminar. Many have found his unique perspective invaluable in understanding the impact of new technologies in meeting the mission critical needs of first responders.”

Mr. Horden will be presenting Budgeting, Capital Expense and Cost of Ownership in an LTE World on Tuesday May 22 at 9:20 AM. This session will cover the considerations agencies must understand in the purchase, budgeting, capital expense and cost forecasting for LTE Network use. He will also cover the important cost considerations involved with supporting both an LMR and an LTE network as the multi-year migration to the public safety broadband network occurs.”

Mr. Horden is a 35-year veteran of the wireless communications industry and began his career with FE in 2004. He is a member of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and serves on their Commercial Advisory Council. He is also a member of the NG9-1 -1 Institute board, NENA, the 9-1 -1 Association, and the Project 25 Technology Interest Group (PTIG) Board of Directors as well as serving on MissionCritical Communications magazine’s editorial advisory board.
