Federal Engineering Awarded Niagara Falls Consulting Contract for Implementation of Next Generation 9-1-1

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, July 8, 2024 – The City of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to assist in its migration to NG9-1-1 services.

Mr. Jason Burgess, CAO for the City of Niagara Falls, explained: “The City is a small, vibrant city located in the heart of the Niagara Region with a population of just over 94,000 residents. In addition to our year-round residents, the Canadian side of the falls sees, on average, more than 13 million visitors annually. Because of that, we feel the need to continually research and evaluate the current environment regarding our Public Safety Services and Systems. The Niagara Falls Fire Department values its past, grasps present opportunities and embraces the challenges of the future. We are committed to providing the citizens of Niagara Falls with the best services possible.”

Mr. Donald C. Nagle, Vice President of the NG9-1-1/ECC Practice at Federal Engineering said: “FE is an industry leader in NG9-1-1 consulting throughout Canada and the United States. Our experts participate in industry organizations to develop and promote NG9-1-1 standards and put them into practice in real-world systems. Members of our team actively participate in Canadian Radio Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) and NENA working groups engaged in developing standards for the 9-1-1 industry. They are thoroughly familiar with CRTC policies and network configurations being defined for implementation in Canada. Our involvement with organizations such as CRTC, NENA, the Association of Public Safety Officials (APCO), and the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) enriches our expertise.”

Mr. Nagle continued: “We understand the time-sensitive nature of assisting the City of Niagara Falls with NG9-1-1 migration and the need to bring in this project on time and within budget. The overall approach to the project will include:

  • Needs Assessment and Recommendations
  • Procurement Support
  • Implementation Consulting Services

Our confidence to the support the City comes from our hands-on experience in the field with numerous similar projects.”
