Erie County Selects Federal Engineering for Interoperable Communications Consulting

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, January 14, 2013 — Erie County, NY has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) to provide consulting services regarding Interoperable Communications for the Erie County Department of Emergency Services.

Ronald F. Bosco, Federal Engineering’s President provided an overview of the project, “FE will provide a multitude of services under this contract including:

  • Evaluate the current Erie County Tactical Interoperable Communications (TIC) plan, existing radio and system deployments, and channel assignments, and make required updates using the Communications Asset Survey and Mapping (CASM) tool.
  • Develop and conduct a live classroom train-the-trainer program for proper usage of the County interoperable communication assets and channels based on the updated County TIC plan.
  • Develop and present a live classroom program to assist County and local governments and agencies with compliance with the FCC 2013 narrowbanding mandate.
  • Generate lifecycle cost projections for compliance submissions to the various state and federal grant programs that have funded both infrastructure and subscriber units.

Federal Engineering will also be available to provide additional technical assistance as this program evolves.”

They demonstrated an in-depth understanding of our unique needs having completed similar programs for the New York counties of Chautauqua, Cortland, Essex, Lewis, Monroe, and Onondaga as well as the City of Albany and the State of New York.”
