Department of Homeland Security Selects Federal Engineering For $3 Billion TACCOM II Contract
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, November 4, 2019 — The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) as an awardee for the Tactical Communications Equipment and Services II (TACCOM II) Multi‐Agency Contract (MAC).
In announcing the contract, Ronald F. Bosco, FE President and CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be a prime contractor under TACCOM II and available to support a multitude of communications projects for Federal Government agencies. Federal Engineering will bring our 36+ years of experience in high availability, wireless communications to the users of this contract. The following agencies are authorized to order directly from the MAC:
- Department of Agriculture
- Department of the Interior
- Department of Justice
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Department of State
- Department of the Treasury
- White House Communications Agency
- Department of Veterans Affairs
- United States Air Force
Other agencies may also avail themselves of the benefits of TACCOM II but they must obtain written authorization from DHS before using this contract.”
Mr. Bosco went on to describe the contract: “TACCOM II is an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The total value of all delivery orders and task orders issued under the TACCOM II contract over the five-year ordering period cannot exceed $3,000,000,000. Federal Engineering has been selected as an awardee under the IDIQ’s Technical Category II, to deliver a broad set of tactical communications services A wide range of labor categories are available from FE including project management, systems analysis, network design, communications engineering, spectrum analysis, site surveys, procurement support, network management, equipment installation, logistics, dispatch support, maintenance, repair, subscriber unit programming. In addition, beyond the labor categories pre-established under its contract, FE is also capable of providing specialized support for task order unique requirements within the scope of the IDIQ, including providing analysis, design, procurement, and implementation support for NG911, PSAPs, ECCs, EOCs and other tactical communications related systems.”
These services complement FE’s wide range of consulting services in public safety and public service communications involving LTE as well as traditional VHF, UHF, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, and 4.9GHz mobile radio systems. FE also supports broadband planning in anticipation of the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network. Since 1983, FE has completed thousands of communications projects for 46 state governments, as well as numerous local and federal government clients.
