The State of Colorado Selects Federal Engineering for Public Safety Microwave System Assessment
FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, December 3, 2014 — The Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) has awarded Federal Engineering, Inc. (FE) a contract to assist in the upgrade of State’s microwave backbone that makes up the foundation of the Colorado Public Safety Digital Trunked Radio System (DTRS).
Mr. Ronald F. Bosco, Federal Engineering’s President, provided an overview of the project, “FE will conduct an assessment of the current microwave network and make recommendations for upgrade and/or replacement.
FE will perform the following tasks:
- Assess existing microwave system
- Review conditions of current sites
- Develop microwave and fiber-based technology alternatives
- Recommend microwave network upgrades
- Estimate costs for equipment, installation, and optimization
- Develop microwave system request for proposals
Federal Engineering will work closely with OIT personnel to ensure that our recommendations meet both the current and future needs of the State.”
