Full-time or contract position considered. Candidates must be able to travel and reside within a one-hour drive of a major airport within the continental United States. No relocation assistance will be provided.

Required qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Subject matter expertise with P25 land mobile radio (LMR) and related wireless communications systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of emerging LMR and LTE technologies, analog and digital radios, conventional and trunked radios, operation in the VHF, UHF, 150 MHz, 700 MHz, and 800 MHz frequency bands.
  • Experience with government LMR communications systems, multi-agency interoperability, and government procurement processes, including requirements definition and acquisition support.
  • Experience engineering, managing, or installing radio systems on behalf of federal, state, or local government clients.
  • Perform data-gathering activities, conduct user interviews, perform data analysis, develop written reports and presentations detailing findings, potential system improvements, conceptual system designs, and estimated costs.
  • Ability to convey technical subject matter to non-technical audiences to assist client’s with making fully informed decisions regarding their communications networks.
  • Lead and support contract negotiations, detailed design reviews, implementation oversight, and system acceptance activities.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience with land mobile radio consulting or engineering.
  • Professional Engineering License a plus.
  • Project management background in the telecommunications industry including planning, progress tracking, status reporting, resource estimates and management, stakeholder communications, identification of project efficiencies, and vendor oversight during system implementations a plus.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and work on client premises.
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, as well as periodic or on-demand COVID-19 testing, may be required depending on the specific requirements of client entities to which you may be assigned. This requirement will be managed in conjunction with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, subject to approved medical or religious exemptions.

    • Technical project management experience with P25 land mobile radio (LMR) communications systems

      Assist clients in the design, procurement, and implementation of a 700 MHz LTE system for public safety use. Experience with design and deployment of one or more of the following components of a metro scale or larger: 2G, 3G or 4G cellular network, or WiMAX wireless network technologies. Additional experience with public safety land mobile radio, TETRA, iDEN or other advanced digital wireless communications technologies is a plus.

      Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics is required. Or, a related field plus qualifying experience: Master’s Degree plus 2 years’ experience, Bachelor Degree in Engineering plus 5 years’ experience, or a Technical Degree plus 10 years’ experience. Project Management certification and/or Professional Engineering Registration is a plus.

      Requirements include strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to work as part of a team, delivering on-time performance, exceeding customer expectations, and demonstrating personal accountability and integrity.


        Assist clients in the design, procurement, and implementation of E911/NG9-1-1 systems and emergency communication centers. Significant experience in the planning, design, and construction of public safety dispatch centers and integration of E911/NG9-1-1 systems, including Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Public Safety Records Management Systems (RMS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and other critical dispatch and command center technologies is required. Recent experience with Emergency Communication Centers (ECC) consolidation and modernization programs as well as public safety land mobile radio communications system design and implementation is a plus. Previous experience in a consulting position is helpful but not necessary.

          Background in microwave communications systems with emphasis on land mobile radio system backbones. Minimum of 15 years experience in route design, link performance analyses, and frequency planning. Strong knowledge of IP/Ethernet transport systems as well as synchronous and plesiochronous digital hierarchies. Ability to perform site surveys, tradeoff analyses, and system designs, as well as generate technical specifications.


            Communication consultant with strong knowledge in voice and data systems. A minimum of ten years experience in telephony systems including key systems, PBXs, voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, and central office based services. Detailed understanding of the issues surrounding VoIP implementations including routers, LANs, WANs, cabling, security, powering of instruments, network QoS, impacts on E911, and systems compatibility. Ability to perform needs assessments, user surveys, system designs, and generate RFPs.
